Like most of the internet this month, I was completely in awe of Fenty Beauty. The packaging is stunning and the extensive range of foundation colours available made me beyond excited that I could potentially find a colour match for my pale skin – hallelujah!
I wanted so badly to love Fenty Beauty and posted this image to my Instagram:
My skin type is combo oily/dry – if an area of my face isn’t oily, you can bet it’s dry! My skin is also hating me for coming off the pill – I have small clusters of spots – not loving life.
Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation
Taking into consideration my skin, the foundation itself is very watery and matte, making it cling to the areas where I have dry skin – never a good look. It also really struggled to cover any of my active spots or to highlight. Trust my skin to be one of the few that doesn’t appreciate Fenty Beauty!
Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer
I actually really like this primer! I’m obsessed with Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer and to be honest I would probably re-purchase that over this, but Fenty Beauty is a close second. It dries quickly, but not to the point that you can’t spread it, and it definitely minimises my pores – win, win!
Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick
I also bought the Fenty Beauty shimmer skinstick in the colour “Starstruck”. This is a nice, natural colour for every day use when you don’t want to blind people with your highlight. The colour doesn’t apply as easily as I would normally like (it ends up taking off some of my foundation on application) but it does its job! I NEED to buy the Fenty Beauty “Trophy Wife” highlighter and see if their powder highlighter applies onto my skin a bit better.
Overall, I do like Fenty Beauty as a make-up brand! It definitely helps that the products are reasonably priced AND available in the UK – take note Kylie Cosmetics! I probably wouldn’t buy their foundation again but there’s definitely some items that I want to try (hello Trophy Wife)! I’ll keep you updated!
